Taylor Liberty Tree Guitar #407
The Liberty Tree is a Grand Concert with back and sides of gloriously figured, chocolate-and-vanilla-colored tulip poplar, and an abalone-edged top of Sitka spruce. A laser-etched, burly maple inlay of a scrolled Declaration of Independence extends from the fingerboard onto the guitar top. The rosette combines a crescent of 13 stars (one for each of the original Colonies) around one half of the soundhole, opposite an early battle pennant that flew during the Revolution. A depiction of the first post-Revolution American flag is inlaid in dyed maple on the peghead."
These days, it seems like there are a wealth of signature editions, limited editions and commemorative guitar models available in the marketplace. But I've got to say that of all of them, the Taylor Liberty Tree guitar is in my opinion among the best possible examples in terms of conception and execution. I find it very inspiring to know that a tree that bore witness to discussions meetings so pivotal to American history has in a second life become something that will go on to be an inspiration to many others. Each part of Annapolis Liberty Tree that has become a Liberty Guitar will continue to have an impact on people in numerous ways, through both the historical provenance of this special tree, and through the beauty, craftsmanship and tone of the instrument itself. I am confident that these guitars are going to be THE investment-grade Taylors to hang on to.
This guitar is offered by The Blue Guitar and our own William Dominick. It is in dead mint Museum condition and includes all original paperwork and video.
